Privacy Policy

Overview

SnapGPX ("the App") lets you export workouts recorded in Apple Health as GPX, TCX or FIT files. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and your choices.

Data We Access

The App requests read-only access to the following Apple HealthKit data:

• Workout records — activity type, duration, distance, and energy burned.
• Workout route data — GPS coordinates, altitude, and timestamps associated with your workouts.
• Sensor samples recorded during a workout — heart rate, running and cycling speed, running and cycling power, cycling cadence, underwater depth, and water temperature. They are read to show a workout’s summary metrics and to write them into the files you export.

The App does not access step count, sleep, body measurements, clinical records, or any other HealthKit data type. Turning sensor data off in the App’s settings produces route-only exports, and the sensor samples above are then not read for them.

How Your Data Is Used

• Workout, route and sensor data are used solely to display your workouts within the App and to generate the files you choose to export.
• Files are generated entirely on your device.
• Your workouts, routes and sensor samples leave the device only when you share an exported file yourself, to the destination you pick at that moment. There is no account to create.
• Two things travel on their own: the App asks Apple to turn a route’s start and end coordinates into a city name, and it sends anonymous usage signals to TelemetryDeck (see Analytics below). Neither carries a full route, a health measurement, or anything that identifies you.
• We operate no server that receives your health data, and no data is sold or handed to advertisers or data brokers.

Data Storage & Retention

• The App keeps no database of your health data. It reads from Apple HealthKit each time you open it.
• Files you export are saved where you choose to share or save them (e.g., Files, AirDrop, email). Each export is written to a temporary folder and deleted once you have shared or dismissed it; anything an interrupted export leaves behind is swept at the next launch.
• Between sessions the App keeps two things: your preferences and the city names it has already looked up (so the same route is not geocoded twice).

Analytics

SnapGPX uses TelemetryDeck for anonymous, privacy-friendly usage analytics. This helps us understand which features are used and improve the app.

• TelemetryDeck collects anonymous usage signals: which screens you visit, which export options you use, how many workouts an export covered, where you sent an exported file (AirDrop, Files or another app, never the file itself), and whether you were looking at the sample activities. Each signal also carries technical details the library sends by default: device model, OS version, language and region.
• To count unique users, the App creates a random identifier the first time you open it. It is tied to nothing about you or your device, and deleting the App discards it.
• No route, no GPS coordinate, no health measurement and not even the sport of a workout is ever sent to TelemetryDeck.
• TelemetryDeck does not track you across apps or websites. No advertising SDKs are included.

Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following services:

• Apple MapKit — draws the route maps, and turns a route’s start and end coordinates into a city name for the workout list. Apple receives the map requests and those coordinates; see Apple’s privacy policy.
• TelemetryDeck — anonymous usage analytics (see above).

No advertising or tracking SDKs are included. No data is sold to third parties.

Location Data in Exported Files

Exported files contain the GPS coordinates of your workout routes, and — unless you turned sensor data off — the sensor samples recorded alongside them. Once exported, these files are under your control. Please be mindful when sharing them, as they reveal where and when you exercised.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

• You can revoke HealthKit access at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Health on your device.
• You can turn sensor data off in the app's settings, so exports carry the route alone.
• Revoking access means the App will no longer be able to display or export your workouts.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
